When Entrepreneur’s John Boitnott asked me what my best advice was on making money while keeping perspective, the answer was clear: “Don’t let money run your life, let money help you run your life better.” Money can be a great thing, but it’s not the be-all and end-all of life goals (or at least it shouldn’t be!).
Twenty-four other professionals, entrepreneurs and millionaires, also have some gems to share. For example, GoPro founder Nick Woodman says, “I mean nobody likes to fail, but the worst thing was I lost my investors’ money and these were people that believed in this young guy that was passionate about this idea…(when you fail), you start to question, are my ideas really good?”
Whether it’s earning it, keeping it or knowing what’s more important than it, money can drive an entrepreneur forward or be a downfall. Will Rogers, actor and social commentator, says, “Too many people spend money they haven’t earn, to buy things they don’t want, to impress people that they don’t like.” Is your money working for you—or is it the other way around?
